Brick City Center for the Arts is a versatile venue for rentals located in the heart of historic downtown Ocala. This unique space includes an art gallery and beautifully landscaped courtyard, both can be easily transformed to accommodate a variety of performances, professional or personal occasions.
In addition to our beautiful gallery, the adjacent courtyard makes for a spectacular setting. Lush and beautifully maintained landscaping, complemented by new awnings and lighting create a welcoming space embedded in the heart of historic downtown. The courtyard is included with indoor rentals or can be rented separately.
Your rental experience will be expertly guided by our Gallery Director. Catering, beer, and wine are permitted. Rentals are available day and evening until 10pm, seven days a week based on availability. Gallery is NOT available on the first Friday of each month and during exhibit installations, unless approved by Gallery Director. For questions, please see FAQ section below!
MCA’s BCCA Gallery aims to showcase local, regional and emerging talent with exhibitions that will expand the public’s appreciation of art as well as reflect the diversity of the community by showing a broad range of artistic techniques, styles, materials and ideas. The Gallery Committee, consisting of local artists, art leaders, community members and MCA staff, will review submitted applications on an on-going basis. The Committee favors proposals that best fulfill MCA’s mission.
Exhibition proposals can include group exhibitions, solo exhibitions, curatorial proposals, student exhibition proposals and more. The Committee plans the Art Gallery schedule one year in advance. Exhibitions can be on display for a period of one day up to five weeks, depending on the month. MCA will host an opening reception for each art exhibit on the first Friday of the month starting at 5pm. Specific times and additional programming / events must be discussed with the Gallery Director upon Exhibit Proposal approval.
‘The Brick’ can accommodate 80 guests inside and 40 on the courtyard. We can seat 70 theater style. For a seated lunch or dinner, we can only accommodate between 45-55 at round tables, depending on your setup.
Gallery space rental is $550 for a 3hr event, which includes use of the gallery, the courtyard, tables & chairs, and event set up by MCA staff. A reasonable amount of time on either side of the event is allowed/included. Any additional time will incur in an additional fee of $175 per hour.
The outdoor courtyard can be rented separately for $200 for a 2-3hr event. However, access to the gallery is not included.
We will set up and tear down any items we provide. However, if you bring any items, those will need to be set up and taken down by you or your rental company AT THE END OF YOUR EVENT – so that we bear no liability for damage. We will not store or hold any items after your event unless previously discussed with the Gallery Manager.
Please note: Lessee is ultimately responsible for leaving the facility restored to condition found prior to event. This includes kitchen, floors, and restrooms. All waste is to be removed by lessee from facility (including courtyard) at the end of the event.
