Applaud the Arts 2020
Starry Night
An Intimate Evening Celebrating the Arts in Partnership with the Marion Theatre
Special thanks to our Presenting Sponsors:
RBOI and Urology Institute of Central Florida.
Our main event is the film, Loving Vincent, the world’s first fully painted feature film. Loving Vincent is an animated biographical film about the life of the painter Vincent van Gogh, and, in particular, about the circumstances of his death. Each of the film’s 65,000 frames is an oil painting on canvas, created using the same techniques as Van Gogh by a team of 125 artists drawn from around the globe.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by celebrity photographer Tammy Griffin for a beautiful portrait of your party with an amazing backdrop from the Reilly show ArtRageous, which was partially sponsored by MCA.
Each guest will receive a gift box full of tapas and small bites donated by our culinary partners. For the safest experience,, these boxes will be prepared and packaged in each sponsor’s restaurant kitchen, and handed to you as you arrive.
With a quick stop for a glass of wine, beer or non alcoholic drink of your choice, you will then be seated in the main auditorium, safely distanced.
We have a treat waiting for you in the theatre before the show begins; local vocal powerhouse Ecliff will be singing on stage, and the rest of the fun is our secret!
And, as always, the wonderful Dorothy Pernu will be on hand to give out our MCA Arts Awards, Powered by Duke Energy. We have a surprise award this year that has never been given before!
Then, on to the big show – Loving Vincent, the world’s first, fully painted feature film which won multiple awards, and was a nominee for best Animated Feature at the 90th Annual Academy Awards.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR TICKETS:
To ensure the safety of our guests, we will be selling tickets in groups of one, two and four. Upon arrival at the Marion Theatre, you will be escorted to your seats which will be labeled with the ticket purchasers name. Thank you for your understanding.
We hope to see you at our 13th Annual Applaud the Arts: Ocala’s Greatest Gathering of Arts and Arts Enthusiasts! Doors open at 5:30 pm. Our program begins at 6:15 pm. See you soon!
