22 Nov “Newy Fagan: A Retrospective”
A new exhibit by local favorite Newy Fagan, explores over 53 years of art created by a pioneer in the kiln-formed glass art movement. The exhibit opens at the MCA’s Brick City Center for the Arts in Ocala on December 1, 2023 and runs thru December 28, 2023. Artist Newy Fagan’s paintings, wood cut prints, clay sculptures, and kiln-formed glass are included in the exhibit which reflects her personal journey through various artistic mediums and her love of horses. “Much of my work is equine oriented,” said Fagan. “I use horse imagery as a metaphor for freedom. To me, there is a spiritual connection between the horse and the human condition that is far older than the discovery of glass.”
