Eligibility Requirements
Arts educators living and working in Ocala/Marion County, Florida
Current member of Marion Cultural Alliance or is employed by an institution that holds an organizational MCA membership.
Applicant has not received a Korzenny Grant, 4 Friends Grant, or a MCA Cultural Grant within the calendar year of the application
A final report on any prior Korzenny Grant, 4 Friends Grant, or a MCA Cultural grant was received by MCA
Eligible Projects
Applications may include requests for:
Registration costs for professional workshops or conferences
Artist residencies
Specialized equipment necessary for work
Examples include:
• Materials for an art or music project
• Curriculum books (e.g. scholastic)
• Registration assistance for a special conference/professional development training
• Funding for art-related field trips so students-in-need can attend
• Developing arts integration/STEAM arts units with other teachers
• Community art/music project
• Collaborative projects
• Costumes for drama or dance
• Cechnology (iPad for iDoceo and garageband, etc., iPads for students, video camera, notation software, sequencing/recording software
• Instruments
Grants DO NOT cover:
Offsetting costs for regular salary or substitute worker to enable other work to continue
General operating expenses
Matching funds for other grants
Funding for pursuit of an academic degree
Application Process
Application may be made, online, at any time. The chair of the Korzenny Grants for Arts Educators Committee will convene the committee as per availability. Grant review and scoring may be conducted online or by other electronic means, if necessary. At its discretion, the Committee may offer partial funding. An arts educator may apply for a 4 Friends Grant and/or a cultural arts grant as a non-profit arts organization, in addition to a Korzenny Grant.
